A Look Back at Our Roots
Longhorn Heights was established in the early 1980s with a vision to create a close-knit, family-friendly neighborhood in the heart of Austin. What began as a modest development soon grew into a thriving community grounded in shared values. Over the years, Longhorn Heights has become a beloved Austin neighborhood, cherished for its friendly residents and beautiful homes.
- 1950s - Longhorn Heights began as open ranchland near Austin.
- 1970s - Zoning allowed housing while preserving green space.
- 1982 - First homes were built and some families moved in.
- 2000 - Community grew to 100+ families, hosting elections.
- 2012 - HOA launched green efforts: water-saving and solar.
