The Beginning
Longhorn Heights was established in the early 1980s with a vision to create a close-knit, family-friendly neighborhood in the heart of Austin. What began as a modest development soon grew into a thriving community grounded in shared values, safety, and natural beauty.
Over the years, Longhorn Heights has become a beloved Austin neighborhood, cherished for its friendly residents and beautiful homes.
Our Journey Through the Decades
1950s — Original Land Use
The area that would become Longhorn Heights was largely open ranchland on the outskirts of Austin.
1970s — Zoning & Early Planning
Initial zoning approvals paved the way for future residential development while preserving green space.
1982 — Longhorn Heights Is Born
The first homes were completed and families began moving into the newly formed Longhorn Heights community.
2000 — Growing Community
With over 200 families, the community flourished, hosting its first series of neighborhood events and HOA elections.
2012 — Going Green
The HOA introduced eco-friendly initiatives including water conservation, native landscaping, and solar panels.
